Member and partner countries
The EEA currently has 32 member countries and six partner countries. The 32 member states include the 27 EU Member States as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.
The six Western Balkan countries are partner countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo [i] . Cooperation activities with these countries are conducted under Eionet and supported by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance.
The EEA is also engaged in international cooperation that extends beyond its own member and partner countries
