Welcome to the European State of the Environment website. The European environment – state and outlook is published by the EEA every five years as mandated in its regulation.

This catalogue lists the documents relevant to current environmental policy in Europe. In particular, the documents set out the environmental objectives, targets and reporting obligations which underpin much of EEA with data and indicators.

These reports examine if the EU and its immediate neighbours are on target to achieving by 2020 the three thematic priority objectives (natural capital; resource efficiency and low carbon economy; health and well-being) of the 7th Environment Action Programme.
