5. Sustainability trends, prospects and responses
The path towards sustainability requires interconnected responses to a complex web of drivers throughout society. In 2021, the EEA delivered assessments and indicators in support of EU sustainability ambitions and underlying policy processes, including:
- A report on
- Improved indicators on sustainability transitions
- Continued contributions to the development of the EU sustainable finance taxonomy
- Contributions in the field of economics, including the report on green growth and economic resilience
- Work on the role of cities in sustainability transitions, with a focus on the EU Urban Agenda
- Work to support the European Commission on foresight; cooperation with other foresight actors such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
