For the purpose of this indicator, weather and climate-related extreme events are defined as meteorological events (storms, mass movements), hydrological events (floods) and climatological events (heatwaves, cold waves, droughts, forest fires). Total economic damages, in EUR billion (2021 values), are based on records from Catastrophe Database (CATDAT) provided by RiskLayer (dataset url is not available) and Eurostat structural indicators.
