Cross-cutting stories

These cross-cutting stories have been developed as part of the EEA's zero pollution monitoring assessment to provide additional context and illustrate the cross-cutting nature of pollution issues.

These stories cover the three elements of the monitoring assessment: production/consumption, ecosystems and health. These stories are not exhaustive, but the examples provided highlight that integrated solutions are needed to address the complex and interlinked nature of environmental pollution, in line with the zero pollution principle of ‘prevention in all policies’.

Page Cross-cutting story 5: Co-benefits of addressing climate change and pollution This cross-cutting story examines the measures being taken to address climate change and pollution. It also explores the potential synergies and trade-offs between measures designed to address these two key societal issues.
