Quality of life is largely a matter of individual preference and perception and overlaps the concept of social wellbeing. Generally the emphasis is on the amount and distribution of public goods, such as health care and well-fare services, protection against crime, regulation of pollution, preservation of fine landscapes and historic townscapes.
