1) The soil surface nitrogen balance is calculated as the difference between the total quantity of nitrogen inputs entering the soil and the quantity of nitrogen outputs leaving the soil annually, based on the nitrogen cycle. 2) Condition in which there is equilibrium between intake and excretion of nutrients.
