Database on areas designated at national and international levels in Europe. In 1996, the Council of Europe, the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC) integrated their respective databases and established a single common database of designated areas in Europe, together with the mechanism to maintain it.
