Mediterranean pollution monitoring and research programme

Term

The Mediterranean action plan (MAP) and the Barcelona Convention are being implemented through a series of protocols and the programmes are being carried out by relevant MAP regional activity centres. Among these programmes is the long-term programme for pollution monitoring and research in the Mediterranean (Medpol), designed to assess the extent of marine pollution in the Mediterranean.
