HelpCenter FAQ

Why are greenhouse gas emissions data from last year not available?

HelpCenter FAQ

The parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) report annually on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for the years between 1990 and the current calendar year (t) minus two (t-2), for emissions and removals within the area covered (i.e. emissions taking place within their territories). The latest data are available on the EEA greenhouse gas data viewer. Proxy greenhouse gas emission estimates for the year (t-1) and greenhouse gas emission projections also exist. In addition, emissions from the European Trading System are also available with a lag of 1 year.
