The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ provides taxonomic, conservation status and distribution information on plants and animals that have been globally evaluated using the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria. This system is designed to determine the relative risk of extinction, and the main purpose of the IUCN Red List is to catalogue and highlight those plants and animals that are facing a higher risk of global extinction (i.e. those listed as Critically Endangered, Endangered and Vulnerable). The IUCN Red List also includes information on plants and animals that are categorized as Extinct or Extinct in the Wild; on taxa that cannot be evaluated because of insufficient information (i.e., are Data Deficient); and on plants and animals that are either close to meeting the threatened thresholds or that would be threatened were it not for an ongoing taxon-specific conservation programme

The Agency for Planning and Building Services is part of the City Administration of Oslo and has about 380 employees. The agency plans the urban design and land use development of the city, by setting out objectives for the use of particular areas, designing overall development plans and granting building permissions. It is responsible for land use- and transport planning through the Comprehensive Development Plan and local plans as well as for environmental impact analyses. The Agency grants building permissions, carries out lift inspections, is responsible for property sectioning and for the maintenance of geographical maps, land use maps, register of land ownership, addresses and building identifications (KomGAB register). The Agency also deals with juridical appeals in regards to the Public Administration Act and the Planning and Building Act.
The MAP is the Mediterranean Action Plan. The MAP is a regional cooperative effort involving 21 countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the European Union. Through the MAP, these Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols are determined to meet the challenges of protecting the marine and coastal environment while boosting regional and national plans to achieve sustainable development.
