Additional information

The share of renewable energy sources in gross final energy consumption reported by Eurostat (SHARES Results) takes into account all biofuels consumed in transport between 2005 and 2010, and only biofuels certified as being in compliance with the RED sustainability criteria for the years starting from 2011.

Methodology

The data for 2005-2023 was compiled by Eurostat and reported by Member States.
Proxy 2024 values are estimated by the EEA.
