Industrial releases of pollutants to water and Gross Value Added (GVA) of industrial activity in the EU-27 between 2010 and 2024

Based on reported data on direct releases from large industrial facilities in EU-27. As most industrial facilities have indirect releases to water via wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), these have been included in the figure. However, it should be noted that data reported by WWTPs also include releases from non-industrial sources. GVA is measured via chain-linked volumes with 2010 as the base year.
