Emission trends by industrial sector in the EU, 2010-2024 Gt CO₂ equivalent

The figure shows emission trends by industrial sector in the EU. Manufacturing encompasses both energy-related emissions (IPCC sector 1.A.2) and process-related emissions (IPCC sector 2). Mining also includes coal mining and handling (IPCC sector 1.B.1.a) and oil and natural gas and other emissions from energy production (IPCC sectors 1.B.2). Waste management encompasses all of IPCC sector 5 except water and wastewater treatment (IPCC sector 5.D) that is hereby displayed as its own category.
