The chart shows the evolution in consumption volumes per consumption domain. The consumption domains contain expenditure groups. The expenditures are expressed in a monetary unit in constant prices, meaning you can read the graph without the effect of inflation. Next to the consumption domains, the trend in total household expenditures are shown.

The chain-linked volume series is a series of economic data from successive years. It is expressed in constant terms by computing the production volume for each year at the prices of the preceding year, and then chain linking the data to obtain a time series from which the effects of price changes have been removed.
