The EEA Scientific Committee comprises up to 20 independent scientists from EEA member countries, selected through an open process to ensure scientific expertise in areas of importance to the agency’s work. The Committee supports the Executive Director and the EEA Management Board by providing scientific advice and is required to provide an opinion on the draft EEA Single Programming Document and the recruitment of scientific staff.

Scientific Committee members are elected for terms of four years, renewable once. Please find the Rules of Procedure of the Scientific Committee here. Past opinions and advice from Scientific Committee are available in the register of documents.
