The viewer displays the evolution and long-term trends of PM2.5, NO2, and ozone concentrations from 2013 to 2024, using the latest validated air quality data reported to the EEA. For PM2.5 and NO2, the indicator shown is the annual mean concentration. For ozone, the indicator is the annual highest six-monthly average of the daily maximum 8-hour mean concentration. For each city, the values displayed represent the arithmetic mean of the concentrations measured at all sampling points located within the city's administrative boundaries.

Information is provided for all cities included in the European Commission's Urban Audit - 2020 that are also covered by the EEA/ETC HE air quality maps. The Urban Audit geospatial dataset includes cities with a population of more than 50,000 inhabitants.
