It shows the median percentage of area exposed to high noise levels (≥65 dB) across quintiles of the share of residents in employment. The analysis is based on 1 km × 1 km grid cells from EU urban centres, which were ranked according to the share of residents in employment and divided into five equal-sized groups (quintiles), each representing 20% of the sample. The first quintile includes grid cells with the lowest share of residents in employment, while the fifth includes those with the highest.
