The figure shows the median percentage of area exposed to high noise levels (≥65 dB) across quintiles of the share of residents by birthplace. The analysis is based on 1 km × 1 km grid cells from EU urban centres, which were ranked according to the share of residents born in the reporting country, another EU country, or outside the EU, and divided into five equal-sized groups (quintiles), each representing 20% of the sample. For each birthplace category, the first quintile includes grid cells with the lowest share of residents in that category, while the fifth quintile includes those with the highest share.
