Inland bathing water quality by country, 2025 bathing season

Assessments are based on the two microbiological parameters specified in the BWD: E. coli and intestinal enterococci. Inland bathing waters include river and lake bathing waters. Countries are ordered by the percentage of inland bathing waters classified as excellent. Only countries with ten or more inland bathing waters are shown. A small number of inland bathing waters are also reported by Albania (six bathing water sites), Bulgaria (four), and Greece and Romania (one each). Inland bathing waters reported by Bulgaria, Greece and Romania are included in the EU total.
