This figure shows median vulnerability index scores across urban, intermediate and rural regions based on the JRC Vulnerability Index (NUTS3), which combines more than 80 social, political, economic and environmental indicators, overlayed with the 'degree of urbanisation'. The analysis indicates that overall vulnerability is higher in rural regions than in urban or intermediate areas.
