When assessing the mitigation potential in various sectors, the review finds that waste management offers the highest relative climate-mitigation potential, averaging 52% (range: 9%-88%). This is followed by construction and buildings: 48% average reduction potential (range: 15%-99%), transport and mobility 28% (range: 4%-57%), industry: 26% (range: 5%-61%), agriculture: 24% (range 2%-87%).

Percentages are potential GHG savings compared to BAU; X represents the average value within a sector; the lower and upper lines or dots represent the lowest and highest values estimated; figures should be interpreted with caution and are subject to the constraints and assumptions set out in the underlying studies.
