The figure illustrates the absolute mitigation potential of circular economy measures identified in studies with a global focus (n=13). As noted in the sectoral analysis, interventions such as reducing floor space, increasing lifetime of new buildings, and material substitution could together yield 2.2 Gt CO₂e global emissions reductions by 2050.
