Biofuels production data

Overall 3.9 million tons of biofuels were produced in the European Union in 2005, marking a 65.8 % growth in production from the year before. Biodiesel accounted for 81.5 % of the total production. The red line (119 PJ) represents 1 % of the road transport energy consumption in 2005. It thus represents half of the indicative target of 2 % proposed by the Commission.
