Chart (static)
Note: This figure shows trends in production of the main marine aquaculture species (or groups) across Europe between 1993 and 2012. Species were selected based on the quantity of production, but also to represent the main cultured groups (finfish, shellfish and aquatic plants). Data is shown in two charts for better visibility and based on the selected species annual production.
Data is shown for the EU-28 by default but it can be further filtered by “all countries” (i.e. EU-28 + non-EU countries that are part of the EEA Eionet network) and specific countries. Due to the amount of data underpinning the charts, the responsiveness of the figure to filtering may not be optimal.
Data is retrieved from the FAO FIGIS Data Base - Fisheries Statistical Collection: Aquaculture Production - Global Aquaculture Production 1950-2012. Some species are reported under different environments (i.e. marine, brackishwater and freshwater) across countries.
