Data and information on Europe's air quality, collected by the EEA, as officially reported by its member, cooperating and voluntary countries, can be accessed under various datasets and viewers.

You can check the quality of the air in your country, region and city under the following data viewers:

  • Up-to-date air quality data viewer: hourly and daily information at monitoring station level for six regulated air pollutants (particulate matter with a diameter equal or lower than 10 µm – PM10; particulate matter with a diameter equal or lower than 5 µm – PM2.5; nitrogen dioxide – NO2; ozone – O3; sulphur dioxide – SO2; and carbon monoxide – CO) for the 30 previous days.
  • Air quality statistics data viewer: yearly data for all 12 air pollutants that have legal limits under EU air quality laws presented by year on maps and box plots.
  • European air quality index: air quality status and related health recommendations.
  • European city air quality viewer: ranking of cities, based on the risk of mortality associated with long-term exposure to PM2.5, NO2 and O3 over the past two calendar years.

You have the possibility to download the historical and current data behind the air pollutant concentrations of the above-mentioned viewers.

Last but not least, we publish Air quality in Europe reports on an annual basis and we have developed an air quality index app that is available in all EU languages for Android or iOS users.
