To access up-to-date (or near-real-time) air quality data at local and regional levels, please visit our data viewers.

The Up-to-date air quality data viewer presents hourly and daily information at monitoring station level for six regulated air pollutants (particulate matter with a diameter equal or lower than 10 µm – PM10; particulate matter with a diameter equal or lower than 5 µm – PM2.5; nitrogen dioxide – NO2; ozone – O3; sulphur dioxide – SO2; and carbon monoxide – CO) for the 30 previous days.

The European air quality index is based on concentration values for up to five key pollutants (PM10, PM2.5, O3, NO2, SO2) and is calculated hourly for more than 3500 air quality monitoring stations across Europe and as a modelled layer for locations outside the stations coverage, using up-to-date data described above. It qualifies the air quality situation in six categories, offering for each of them health-related messages with recommendations for both the general population and sensitive populations.
