First submission under the Enhanced Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement
- The document published today (13 December 2024) represents part 1 of the first official inventory submission of the European Union (EU) for 2024 under the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and follows the modalities, procedures and guidelines (MPGs) under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) of the Paris Agreement (according to Decisions 18/CMA.1 and 5/CMA.3).
- Under the Enhanced Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement, a GHG inventory report consists of a national inventory document (part 1) and common reporting tables (part 2). The common reporting tables (part 2) will be uploaded as soon as possible, once the remaining technical shortcomings with the ETF electronic reporting tools are resolved, to ensure that the EU inventory is fully consistent with the sum of emissions and removals from Member States' inventories.
