Metadata

Methodology:: Past emissions reported by countries to the UNECE CLRTAP Convention and EEA, and for WB countries from UNECE/EMEP estimates. 2010 projections data reported by EU Member States under the EU’s National Emission Ceiling Directive. 2020 outlooks calculated from the GAINS model (IIASA) on the basis of the PRIMES2010 energy scenario. Outlooks shown include a) a 2020 ‘current policy’ baseline, b) the emission reduction required in 2020 in order that the EU-27 achieve the environmental objectives of the Thematic Strategy on Air Pollution (TSAP) and c) the maximum reduction case (MRR) in 2020.
