The steep increase between 1999 and 2000 in the efficiency of heat and electricity production is mainly due to an important rise in heat production in Germany



Additional information

EEA baseline projections are consistent with European Commission (2004). The Low-Carbon-Energy Pathway (LCEP) scenario assumes that ambitious future greenhouse gas emission reduction targets will be reached and thus assumes a CO2 permit price of EUR 30/t CO2 and EUR 65/t CO2 in 2020 and 2030, respectively.
