Additional information

The vast majority of highly radioactive waste consists of spent fuel and spent fuel reprocessing wastes. Data on storage are not available for the UK (2003 to 2005) or for Sweden (2005). No data are available for Lithuania or Slovenia (both have nuclear power plants). Other Member States not listed in the above figure do not have nuclear power plants. Italy phased out commercial nuclear power in 1987.
