Promotion of Circular Economy in Hotels

The purpose of the Measure is to guide and facilitate the transition of Cypriot hotels to a green and circular economy. The Measure will provide consulting services, including among others, the development of skills through workshops, training programmes, professional guidance, and certification with the Circular Economy Certification Scheme which will be developed during the implementation of the Measure.

The actions of the Measure are separated in two phases: the “Silver Circle” and the “Gold Circle” of services.   

In the “Silver Circle” the hotels received the following key services: 

- A three-day training workshop  

- Diagnostic assessment  

- Development of the Circular Economy action plan  

- Business coaching 

In addition, a training workshop on Circular Economy was held for Officials of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism. 

During the "Gold Circle”, the following services will be provided: 

- monitoring of the implementtation of the circular economy actions 

- preparation for certification with the Circular Economy Certification Scheme. 

The certification will be carried out by an independent certification body.  

The budget of the Measure amounts to € 1,400,000 and the De minimis grant to the hotels amounts to 100% of the eligible cost
