Circular economy good practices

The Circular Economy (CE) good practices page contains a number of examples of how different countries are trying to develop CE policies. Examples are drawn from the reporting done by countries in form of the CE Country Profiles published on the EEA website. The intention is that this become a growing library of inspiration for policy makers across the EIONET countries.

Legend for large, medium, small scale

The cases are divided into three soft scale categories. Soft because it contains two dimensions (Sectoral coverage, geographical coverage)

Small: An example covering a relatively small geographical area and a limited part of the economy (sectors). Thus an example covering a narrow sector in just one country will be small scale.

Medium: An example covering a broader part of the economy (several sectors) and a larger number of countries.

Large: An example covering most of the economy and most of the countries

The categories are “soft” because it is obviously possible to have narrow regulation covering all countries. But most examples are country examples, and the sectoral coverage is therefore a key determining factor.
