The Interministerial Commission on Circular Economy is an instrument composed of those Spanish ministries whose policies have a direct impact on the transition towards a circular economy.
Although the Commission was established following the endorsement of the Spanish Strategy for Circular Economy, it was created in advance to approve the CE Strategy.
The Interministerial Commission on Circular Economy will be responsible for evaluating and making proposals on the circular economy policies and measures to be incorporated into their sectoral policies, including regulations, as well as how to monitor and evaluate successive circular economy action plans; and the measures proposed by the CE Council to promote the transition towards a Circular economy.
The Commission convenes plenary sessions at least once a year to foster inter-ministerial coordination and integrate CE considerations into the policy-making process. To this end, individual meetings are also held with the various units involved in the CE Action Plan, to provide them with guidance and assistance on matters they deem pertinent.
