The product had initially a three-year update cycle, producing reference years 2012, 2015 and 2018, but is now on produced with an annual frequency from reference year 2018 and onwards. Change products are produced on a 3-year frequency, showing increase

HRL Crop Types
The High Resolution Layer Crop Types layer provides high resolution crop type classification for 17 classes of both arable and permanent crops accross the EEA38 extent. Using both Sentinel-1 and Sentiel-2, the model is finetuned to first map the crop field boundaries, and then determine the main crop for each field.
The product is provided on an annual frequency starting with reference year 2017.
High Resolution Layer Croplands product is part of the European Union’s Copernicus Land Monitoring Service.
HRL Forest Type
High Resolution Layer Forest Type product at pan-European level provides extent of forests according to the forest definition of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Derived from the Tree Cover Density and Dominant Leaf Type, along with supporting data from CORINE Land Cover and HRL Imperviousness, the dataset distinguish the major forest types: decideous, coniferous.
The product has a three-year update cycle and is available for the 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2021 reference years.

Ecosystem types of Europe
The 'Ecosystem types of Europe' datasets combines the Copernicus land service portfolio, marine bathymetry and seabed information with the non-spatial EUNIS habitat classification for a better biological characterization of ecosystems across Europe.
The datasets aims to contribute to a better biological characterization of terrestrial and marine ecosystems across Europe (EEA-38 and United Kingdom). It represents probabilities of EUNIS (EUropean Nature Information System) habitat presence in terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems. The work supports the Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services (MAES), Action 5 of Target 2 the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020, established to achieve the Aichi targets of the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD).
