The reporting has been undertaken in late 2007. It was calling for information on the national monitoring programs and stations for both surface and ground water. Over time, these stations will be used for reporting environmental information on State of the Environment as well as support requirements stemming from other Environmental legislation.

The maps provide a European overview as well as individual information on each monitoring station. The topics addressed are:

  • Ground water monitoring by River Basin District (general, quantitative and chemical)
  • Surface water monitoring by River Basin District  and by Country.

You can access these maps under the Water live maps on this website.

The next update of the map viewer will happen late May including the annual state of the environment data, as well as new data on bathing water and urban waste water treatment.
