The Stations table contains the Eionet-Water transitional, coastal and marine water monitoring stations, provided by national sources or Marine Conventions. Each station has been assigned a unique Waterbase identifier (WaterbaseID) which can be used to link the Stations with their respective Quality and Pressures data.

For transitional, coastal and marine waters, areas are recorded and reported as a discrete location, but location may relate to a station at a fixed geographical point, a broader area in which sampling locations vary from survey to survey or an area within a defined salinity range within which samples have been taken.
