Data Table
This page was archived on 26 Jun 2015 with reason: Other (New version data-and-maps/data/waterbase-transitional-coastal-and-marine-waters-11 was published)
The Stations table contains the Eionet-Water transitional, coastal and marine water monitoring stations, provided by national sources or Marine Conventions. Each station has been assigned a unique Waterbase identifier (WaterbaseID) which can be used to link the Stations with their respective Quality and Pressures data.

Table definition
TCMMatrix Matrix environmental compartments measured at transitional, coastal or marine water station. B=biota, S=sediment, W=water column. Any combination allowed, listed alphabetically with no separator (e.g. BSW). varchar(3) 0
WaterBodyType Water body type RV=river, CN=canal, T=transitional water, C=coastal water, M=marine water. varchar(2) 0
Mixing Mixing characteristics mixing characteristics at transitional, coastal or marine water monitoring station: FM = Fully mixed, PM = Partially mixed, VS = Vertically stratified. varchar(2) 0
PhysChemStation Physico-Chemicals category station physico-chemical conditions monitored at station. R=represenatative station type, I=impact station type. varchar(1) 0
StationClass Station class proximity to land, defined by comparing supplied station co-ordinates with maps. Coast=within 20 km of closest land or island, Open Water=more than 20 km from closest land or island. varchar(10) 0
CountryCode Country code abbreviation of EEA Member or Collaborating country. ISO 3166-alpha-2 code elements. varchar(2) 0
DataSource Data source source of data: Eionet-Water, ICES. varchar(50) 0
HazsubsStation Hazardous substances category station hazardous substances monitored at station type: R = Represenatative station, I = Impact station. varchar(1) 0
ReferenceStation Reference Station reference station type, found in catchments or associated River Basin Districts with little or no human activity, natural landscape higher than 90%, and minimally impacted by inflow from adjacent coastal or marine waters. Concentrations of nutrients or hazardous substances occurring naturally would give an indication of background levels. For volatile sunthetic substances, data from these stations might be used to assess the significance of atmospheric deposition. River and lake stations can be of more than one type. 1=yes, 0=no. int(4) 0
SeaConventionArea Marine Convention Area name of Marine Convention area of which regional sea is a part. nvarchar(255) 0
SeaRegionName Sea region name name of regional sea of which local sea area is a part. nvarchar(255) 0
Remarks Remarks remarks, comments or explanatory notes. nvarchar(255) 0
WaterBodyID Water body ID national identification code of water body (if applicable) in which station is located. Water body as required/defined by the WFD. A water body may have more than one station in it. nvarchar(255) 0
WaterBodyName Water body name name of water body in which station is located. Water body as required/defined by the WFD. A water body may have more than one station in it. nvarchar(255) 0
SeaAreaName Sea area name name of the local sea into which the river discharges or in which the TCM station is located. SeaAreaName may be the same as WaterBodyName. nvarchar(255) 0
NationalStationID National Station ID identifier of the river or lake monitoring stations, the water quantity station, the transitional, coastal or marine flux or montoring station, all unique at the national level. A transitional, coastal or marine station should be a geographically fixed location, an area in which actual sampling locations vary from survey to survey or an area within a defined salinity range within which samples have been taken. Each station is referred to be its single, central location. For transitional, coastal or marine flux stations, the NationalStationID should be the same as that provided for the river flux station. nvarchar(255) 0
Region Region national region in which water body is located. nvarchar(255) 0
WaterbaseName Waterbase name national name of station or groundwater body. nvarchar(255) 0
WaterbaseID Waterbase ID internally produced, unique identifier used to represent the monitoring station for rivers, lakes, transitional, coastal and marine waters, and water quantity, in the format CountryCode_WaterDataSet_NationalStationID (e.g. AT_RV_001), or the groundwater body, in the format CountryCode_WaterDataSet_EWN-Code (e.g. AT_GW_AT001). nvarchar(255) -1
Country Country name official short name in English. ISO 3166-1. nvarchar(255) 0
CatchmentName Catchment name name of major catchment or basin. nvarchar(255) 0
