Groundwater quality (EWN-3)Data on groundwater bodies are collected annually through the WISE-SoE data collection process. WISE SoE was previously known as EUROWATERNET (EWN) and EIONET-Water. The data requested on groundwater include the physical characteristics of the groundwater bodies, proxy pressures on the groundwater area, as well as chemical quality data on nutrients and organic matter, and hazardous substances in groundwater. |

State & Quantity of Water Resources (EWN-4)Data on freshwater resources availability, abstraction and use at regional spatial scale are collected annually through the WISE-SoE annual data flow. These data are primarily used to formulate indicators (associated with the EEA's Core Set Indicators) and assess the state and trends of the water resources and associated pressures, and monitor the progress with European policy objectives. The information needed in relation to water quantity is generally described as drivers, pressures, state, impact, response. In general there is a need for coherent European indicators describing water availability/scarcity in connection with water use and water use efficiency to assess the extent and intensity of the problem, and of the impact of particular socio-economic sectors on water abstraction (e.g. water abstraction by agriculture). The new code for Water quantity reporting is WISE SoE#3. This reporting obligation is an EIONET non-Priority Data flow. |

E-PRTR data reportingData reporting by Member States according to Article 7 of Regulation 166/2006/EC covering data reported by operators to the Member States according to Article 5.1 (releases to air, water and land; off-side transfers of waste; and off-side transfers of pollutants in waste water) and 5.2 (information on releases and transfers resulting as totals of all deliberate, accidental, routine and non-routine activities). For all facilities which undertake one or more of the activities specified in Annex I above the applicable capacity thresholds, the reporting covers: (a) releases to air, water and land of any pollutant specified in Annex II for which the applicable threshold value specified in Annex II is exceeded; (b) off-site transfers of hazardous waste exceeding 2 tonnes per year or of non hazardous waste exceeding 2000 tonnes per year, for any operations of recovery or disposal with the exception of the disposal operations of land treatment and deep injection referred to in Article 6, indicating with "R" or "D" respectively whether the waste is destined for recovery or disposal and, for transboundary movements of hazardous waste, the name and address of the recoverer or the disposer of the waste and the actual recovery or disposal site; (c) off-site transfers of any pollutant specified in Annex II in waste water destined for waste-water treatment for which the threshold value specified in Annex II, column 1b is exceeded. The information shall include information on releases and transfers resulting as totals of all deliberate, accidental, routine and non-routine activities. |

Water emission quality (WISE-1)Data on emissions are collected annually through the WISE-SoE Reporting process. Following the test data request in 2008, data on emissions to water are requested as regular data flow from 2009 onwards. The data requested on emissions include emissions of nutrients, organic matter and hazardous substances from a range of both point and diffuse sources. This reporting obligation is an EIONET non-Priority Data flow. |

Marine Data (ME-1)Data on transitional, coastal and marine waters are collected annually through the WISE-SoE data collection process. WISE SoE was previously known as EUROWATERNET (EWN) and EIONET-Water. The data requested on transitional, coastal and marine waters include the physical characteristics of the transitional, coastal and marine water monitoring and flux stations, proxy pressures on the upstream catchment, basin and River Basin District associated with transitional and coastal waters, chemical quality data on nutrients in seawater and hazardous substances in biota, sediment and seawater, as well as data on direct discharges and riverine input loads. |
