The 2009 emission trading data are now available through the EEA's EU Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) data viewer

20 May 2010

The EU ETS is one of the main and most prominent measures introduced by the EU to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and reach its target under the Kyoto Protocol. The main source of information on the scheme at EU level is the Community Independent Transaction Log (CITL), run by the European Commission. The EU ETS data viewer is a tool to help exploring the information contained in the CITL, aimed to support governments, market players and other stakeholders in their assessment of the EU ETS.

Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) data viewer

This version of the viewer uses data contained in the CITL in March 2009 for the reporting years 2005 and 2006, 11 May 2009 for the reporting year 2007 and data as of 17 May 2010 for the reporting year 2008 and 2009. The coverage of the data for 2009 is now very complete; the installations which reported verified emissions for 2009 emitted 99% of emissions recorded in 2008. The only country where a substantial share of emissions is not yet available is Cyprus.
