The following country profiles provide key data for each Member State concerning emissions and projections of four important air pollutants: sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOC), and ammonia (NH3).

NEC Directive: Member State country-profiles (NEC Directive status report 2008) – published September 2009

These fact sheets provide, for each Member State, key statistics concerning the four important air pollutants (SO2, NOx, NMVOC and NH3) regulated under the EU National Emission Ceilings Directive (NECD) (2001/81/EC).  More detailed information is available in the EEA's NEC Directive status report 2008  and in the EEA NEC Directive data viewer.

Drawing on available data reported by Member States in the 2008 reporting round under NECD, each profile provides key parameters on past air pollutant emission trends between 1990 and 2007, and the projected emissions for 2010 and beyond. Information provided by the Member States by 5 May 2009 is included.
