Environmental information systems
The indicator shows fossil fuel subsidies expressed as a share of gross domestic product (GDP), based on the World Trade Organization’s framework under the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. It covers four main categories of subsidies: direct transfers, tax expenditures, income or price support mechanisms and budgets for research, development and demonstration.
