Yellow dots indicate estimated targets for 2021 under the Effort Sharing Regulation (ESR); light green dots indicate the currently available 2030 targets under the ESR; and dark green dots indicate proposed 2030 targets under the ESR with increased ambition. The ESR targets for 2030 have been published using global warming potentials (GWPs) from the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). To allow a comparison with reported greenhouse gas projections and historical inventory numbers, an estimate for annual emission allocations for 2030 in the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) of the IPCC has been conducted. WAM = ‘with additional measures’ projections scenario.
