VACANCY NOTICE

The goal of the European Environment Agency (reference is made to Official Journal of the European Communities No L 117 of 5 May 1999) and its wider network, EIONET, is to provide the European Union and the Member States with high quality information for policy-making and assessment of the environment, inform the general public, and provide scientific and technical support to these ends. The European Environment Agency is organising a selection procedure with a view to drawing up reserve lists for:

Project manager, Energy (temporary agent, A7/A6)

Reference number: EEA/A/00/1

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

With responsibility, under the Programme Manager, Integrated Assessment and Reporting, for

  • Development of sectorial analyses and assessments in the field of energy, to contribute to the integrated environmental reporting process.
  • Collection of information on energy to allow the link from pressure to impacts and responses to be made.
  • Development of approaches to improved information on energy for integrated environmental assessments and outlooks, for improved policy making.
  • Providing support to the general programmes on integrated environmental assessment and the development of scenarios for environment improvement at the Agency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Specific requirements:

  • a thorough knowledge of the energy sector from an environmental point of view;
  • professional experience in data collection / policy development / environmental management and related cross-cutting issues in the energy sector;
  • relevant skills and experience with analytical tools such as scenarios.

 

 

General requirements:

Candidates should:

  1. Be a national of a Member Country of the European Environment Agency (Member States of the European Union, and Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein);
  2. Have a university degree or equivalent relevant to the field concerned;
  3. Have at least three yearsÆ professional experience relating to the field covered by the description of duties;
  4. Have knowledge of at least two official languages of the European Union. Knowledge of English would be an asset;
  5. Have experience from working in a multilingual environment.

Candidates must enclose documentary evidence (copies only) with their applications providing proof of points 1 and 2 above (incomplete applications will not be considered). Candidates must be prepared to submit proof of other qualifications upon request.

 

 

General Conditions

Selected candidates will be included on a reserve list for the post in question and may be offered a contract of up to 5 years, with the possibility of renewal, in accordance with the conditions of employment of other servants of the European Communities (OJ No. L 56, 4. 3. 1968).

The place of employment shall be Copenhagen.
