Policymakers need knowledge about possible future developments to inform their decision-making. The knowledge base for Forward-Looking Information and Services (FLIS) aim to support such long-term planning. FLIS currently has six components, including scenarios and forward-looking indicators. In the future, additional components may be added, for example horizon scanning and early warning signalling.
This brochure describes the six components of FLIS and lists some of the information generated so far. Also published today, the report "Catalogue of scenario studies" contributes to the knowledge base.
