Air pollutant emissions — country profiles

These country profiles summarise key data on air pollutant emissions for each of the 32 EEA member countries. Indicators on past and future emission trends are presented, together with a summary of progress being made towards meeting national emissions ceilings for each country (where applicable).

These country profiles complement the information and analysis available in EEA's latest NEC Directive status report 2010 and the annual European Union emission inventory report 1990 – 2009 to the UNECE LRTAP Convention. The data in the country profiles may be separately downloaded from EEA's dataviewers.

The country profiles present key data on trends in air pollutant emissions over the period 1990-2009. For the EU-27 Member States, an assessment is provided of current and projected progress towards the emission ceilings specified in the EU's National Emission Ceilings Directive. For other countries, progress is shown with respect to the emission ceilings defined in the Gothenburg protocol to the UNECE's LRTAP Convention.
