His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark was guest of honour at a preview of the new EEA documentary, 'Our Arctic Challenge'. Filmed over 10 days in July 2007, the film follows an EEA team as it participates in the Extreme Arctic Team Challenge – an annual adventure race based on the island of Ammasalik, East Greenland.

'I was lucky enough to be a member of one of the two EEA teams taking part in the race. It was an unforgettable experience. Seeing the impacts of climate change first hand was, for all of the EEA staff involved, a deeply moving experience. As the local environment changes, the Inuit of the area are adapting — something we will all have to do,' said Professor Jacqueline McGlade, Executive director of the EEA.

'Our Arctic Challenge', a 52 minute documentary produced by Danish company Ace&Ace will be distributed to tv stations next year.

They travel from their offices in Copenhagen to participate in a multi sport race, where they challenge themselves through 250 kilometers of the Arctic wilderness. On their way they encounter the effects of climate change and its impact on the Arctic environment. The Inuit are among the first people to experience the effects of climate change. They are in the middle of an environmental challenge that will change many parts of their culture. What is happening to the Inuit today will happen to the rest of the world tomorrow. We will all need to adapt to climate change.
