EEA greenhouse gas - data viewer
The EEA GHG viewer provides easy access and analysis of the data contained in the Annual European Union greenhouse gas inventory 1990 – 2010 and inventory report 2012. The EEA GHG data viewer can show emission trends for the main sectors and allows for comparisons of emissions between different countries and activities.

EEAFigure Fluorinated gases (F-gases) emissions in EU-27 for years 1990-2010 in Mt CO2 eq(GWP SAR)
The figures shows the emissions of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6). Emissions are provided in Mt CO2 equivalent using the Global Warming Potential values of the 2nd IPCC Assessment report (SAR).

Data Fluorinated greenhouse gases (aggregated data)
Aggregated data reported by undertakings on the production, import and export of fluorinated greenhouse gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6) in the European Union. The European Union Regulation (EC) No 842/2006 on certain fluorinated greenhouse gases (the 'F-Gas Regulation') introduced a requirement for each producer, importer and exporter of more than one tonne of F-gases to report to the European Commission on the quantities produced, imported and exported in each calendar year, including information on the main intended applications of the F-gases quantities reported.

Highlight Potent greenhouse gases – fluorinated gases in the European Union
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has published new aggregated information on the production and trade of fluorinated gases – or F-gases – in the EU. Although emitted in relatively small quantities, the emissions of these gases are increasing, and many are several thousand times more powerful greenhouse gases than carbon dioxide (CO2).

EEAFigure Production, imports, exports and consumption of Fluorinated gases (F-gases) for years 2007-2011 in the EU-27 (Mt CO2 eq, GWP TAR)
The figure shows the emissions of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) on Production, Imports, Exports and Consumption from 2007 to 2011. Emissions are provided in Mt CO2 equivalent using the Global Warming Potential values of the 3rd IPCC Assessment report (TAR).

Press Release Recession and renewables cut greenhouse emissions in 2009
Greenhouse gas emissions decreased very sharply in 2009, by 7.1 % in the EU-27 and 6.9 % in the EU-15. These most recent results, compiled by the European Environment Agency (EEA), confirm estimates made by the EEA last year. This decrease was largely the result of the economic recession of 2009, but also sustained strong growth in renewable energy.
