DESCRIPTION:Changes in the transport sector are now visibly essential.
  It is important to change transport policies from private car use to 
 encouraging investment by governments in walking\, cycling and safe\, 
 accessible\, viable and attractive public transport for the 21st centu
 ry and the second Millenium.\nThe Green Economics Institute is working
  with John Stewart\, Sunday Times Transport campaigner of the year and
  a member of the Green Economics Institute to create a workshop for cr
 eating a wave of change in transport policy and use.\nThe true costs o
 f current transport policy and interest groups and lobbying which skew
 s transport policy and increases the cost rewarding activities in the 
 economy which accelerate climate change and increase externalities mak
 ing the rest of society pay for them.\nAs the government revs up to cr
 eate yet more airports\, we discuss the alternatives and why this proc
 ess blights whole communities and how this contributes to further runa
 way climate change.
