International WORKSHOP “Planning for sustainable city logistics policies and measures in small and mid-sized European cities” - Växjö Konserthus, 7th April 2014- 13:00 to 17:30

The topic will be urban planning for sustainable city logistics policies and measures in European cities and the international workshop will bring together representative of several European cities, including several ones of the Nordic area. Promoted by the European IEE ENCLOSE project (ENergy efficiency in City LOgistics Services for small and mid-sized European Historic Towns – www.enclose.eu) the aim will be to network small and mid- sized towns to discuss common issues, challenges and results on urban logistics planning. The cities of Lucca, s'-Hertogenbosch, Trondheim, Burgos, Almada, Serres, Alba Iulia, Balchik, Dundee will be hosted by the Energy Agency for South-East Sweden and representatives from several Swedish cities among which Umeå (European Capital of Culture 2014) and Malmö will join the event to share experiences from their activities to reduce the environmental impact from transportation. The workshop will be chaired by the Sweden Municipalities and Regions (SKL) and, some of the most important organizations in Sweden operating in the field of city logistics will attend the event as speakers: the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute and the Chalmers University of Technology. The European Energy Agency will also join the event as speaker. Main partner of the event is the European Logical Town Association (www.logicaltown.eu).
